Coal mine Westphalia
The former Westfalen mine is being developed into a sustainable industrial location of particular interest to modern, service-oriented companies. The preservation of the industrial-historical character of the colliery with its two winding towers has produced an unmistakable location with a high identification value.
The Lohnhalle/Waschkaue ensemble of buildings, which characterizes the site, could be repaired through the granting of state and EU subsidies and is fully used as a starter center. The inner development of the planned area was also carried out with state/EU funds. The extension of the planned east bypass as an external development is still being carried out in the course of a planning approval procedure.
